Snoopy's Favorite, the Sopwith Camel paper model

Here is a nice little model of Snoopy's favorite ride, the Sopwith Camel.

 

 The page is in Japanese, but the model is straight forward and easy to build. Scroll down the page until you see "Sopwith F.1 Camel" right below that is the link to the model, it is in Japanese but it says PDF in the file name. This is a small model, the whole thing fits on one sheet of paper, but it is well worth the time. You should put some extra effort into detailing the model, put some bend in the wings, add in the wing wires, etc. for a great model.

US Coast Guard HC-130 Hercules Paper Model

Spring and Summer are great times to go boating, but of course the more boats, the more boating accidents. Recently in the news there have been a couple of possible fake distress calls to the US Coast Guard. This of course required a huge expenditure of time and effort for the Coast Guard to go hunting for these non-existing ships. Hopefully those responsible will be caught and prosecuted.

U.S. Air Force X-37B Unmanned Space Plane paper model

Today the X-37B Space Plane landed after 15 months in orbit. Nothing is known about what this space plane did for 15 months or what it will be used for in the future, but it is interesting none the less. Looks like a miniature Space Shuttle.

Here is a nice little paper model of the space plane. To be completely authentic to the X-37B the colors will need to be modified as this model is for an earlier version. But still a great model anyway.

1/100 Lippisch P.04 Concept WWII German Flying Wing

Here is an interesting paper model of the 1/100 Lippisch P.04 Concept German Flying Wing. Looks like it may be the plane that the neat flying wing in Indiana Jones was modeled after. It always fascinates me how far aeronautics advanced during WWII. We started off with bi-planes and ended up with Jets, Rocket Planes, Flying Wings, etc.
This model costs 6.50 to download, but if you are as interested in flying wings as I am at the moment then it is worth the small price.

Nice little B2 Stealth Bomber paper model

Following on our last Flying Wing posting, here is a nice little paper model of the Grumman Spirit B2 Stealth Bomber. This one is from Japan, lots of great model designers in Japan. The model is on 3 sheets in PDF file format, full color. The instructions are in English and Japanese, so whichever language you speak you will have no trouble. I went with the English.

German WWII Horten Ho XVIII B-2 1:72 paper model

Here is a very nicely done paper model of the German Horten Ho XVIII B-2 in 1:72 scale. Several nice details, including clear cockpit glazing. The model is designed for landing gear down, but it would not be difficult to build it with landing gear up.

This is one of the experimental designs that Germany was working on towards the end of the war, a long range bomber that could target the USA. It is fascinating how advanced the German thinking was at that time. The war began with bi-planes and ended with missiles, rocket planes, and jets.

There are several nice build photos, plus exceptional build diagrams. The model is in PDF format.

Very Nice V-1 Flying Bomb from Ralph Currell

Here is a nice V-1 Flying Bomb paper model that I recently built. This one is from Ralph Currell. He has several very nice models including the V-1 and a great V-2. Also for fans of Paper Model Planes there are models of several Air Ships, the Concorde, and SpaceShipOne. All of these models are a little more complex to build, but the final result is worth the time and effort.

Great Paper Model of the Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress

There are only a few paper models of the Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress from WWII and the nicest is over at Fiddlers Green. It is not a free model, but it is well worth the price if you want a model of this iconic bomber in your World War II collection.

One really nice feature of the Fiddlers Green web site is the Massive amounts of information they have on the different airplanes represented by their models. You can spend hours on their site just reading up on the different planes. Great resource for any model builder, and you don't have to buy anything to access the information, it isn't hidden behind any members only log in.
